Wedding Lippy

The warmer weather brings on wedding season, which the royal wedding kicked off a few weeks ago. Planning your own wedding (or just daydreaming about one in the future?) Here’s my advice when it comes to selecting and wearing lippy for your wedding!
Kate Middleton reportedly did her own makeup, not to save money, of course, but because she wanted to look like naturally beautiful self on her special day. Heed this advice, ladies. You don’t want to look like you’re playing dress up by wearing a super bright or bold lip color you’ve never worn. Even if you have previously worn red, fuchsia, berry or orange lip color, I still advise against it. It will immediately date your pictures, and draw attention to your lips instead of your dress. Instead, opt for a soft baby pink or sheer coral color. For my wedding, I wore Yves Saint Laurent Gloss Pur in Pure Coral, which was a sheer gloss with a pretty hint of color, and non-sticky. You can also try Stila Silk Shimmer Gloss, which is a pink gloss with a little shimmer that also moisturizes.
Notice that my above recommendations are glosses? I advise against lipstick for a bride. You’re going to be doing a LOT of smiling for pictures, friends and family, so you don’t want to worry about lipstick on the teeth, fading lipstick, cracking lips or related issues. Choose a gloss that has moisturizers in it, so your pout looks healthy throughout the day. It will also eliminate the need to carry an additional moisturizer. Neutrogena’s MoistureShine Gloss is super conditioning with it’s moisturizing ingredients such as Acai and Goji, and is non-sticky. Pick up one in Healthy Blush or Healthy Peach. This will also keep your lips conditioned for that big post-I Do kiss.
Kisses,
